Saudi Exit/Re-Entry Visa: Do You Need a New Photo?
Sources checked: 2026-10-27
Do not assume you need to buy a new photo to issue an exit/re-entry visa. Absher's published issuance guide for family members and domestic workers does not list a new photo upload among its requirements. A separate resident-photo update is a different transaction.
Which service does this guide cover?
The official Absher page covers issuing exit/re-entry or final-exit visas for family members or domestic workers. It describes Family Members Services for companions and Employee Services for domestic workers.
This is not a universal guide for every employer or immigration route. For other employment arrangements, follow the applicable official service or your employer's instructions.
Check travel and identity requirements first
For exit/re-entry, the published guide lists requirements including:
- The beneficiary is inside Saudi Arabia at issuance.
- The residency permit is valid and the passport is valid for at least 90 days.
- The required visa fee and applicable traffic violations are paid.
- A registered fingerprint exists for beneficiaries aged 15 and above.
- The beneficiary has a digital ID on Absher.
A photo edit cannot fix a visa eligibility error
The official page also has conditions for visa duration and the return-before date. Review the full current guidance before applying; the checklist above is not an exhaustive eligibility assessment.
A refusal caused by passport validity, residency dates, unpaid fees or missing biometric records is not a photo-quality problem. Do not repeatedly resize a portrait to try to resolve those messages.
What if your transaction does ask for a photo?
Record the exact transaction name and the upload instructions. A request to update the resident's photo should be checked separately from visa issuance. Do not reuse National ID or tourist visa measurements without evidence that they apply.
If image processing is allowed and needed, Aalejha's paid photo tools may help with the stated file or background requirements. We do not issue visas, update government records or guarantee acceptance.
If you have already used our service and encountered a photo error, contact support with the order reference and the exact error text. Do not include an Absher password or one-time code.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to upload a new photo for exit/re-entry?
The published Absher issuance guide for family members and domestic workers does not list a new photo upload. Follow any instructions displayed in your specific transaction rather than assuming a new photo is needed.
Does issuing the visa change my Iqama photo?
Do not treat visa issuance as a resident-photo update. Follow the separate photo-update service instructions if you need to change the image on your record.
Can Aalejha fix an expired passport or residency error?
No. Image processing cannot change passport validity, residency status, biometric records or eligibility. Resolve those issues through the responsible authority.
